Sarah & Joe boldly go where they've planned to go before, but never quite got around to it, with It Happened One Year's look at the original Star Trek series, specifically the season two episode "I, Mudd," airing November 3rd, 1967! After an intro by friend of the show Lana Cooper, the hosts touch on what was skipped by season one's 1994 omission of Generations and The Next Generation finale, their respective (and somewhat limited) personal exposure to the film and TV franchise, and discuss just how misogynistic (or not?) the show was in its early days. There's also a quick look at the character history of Harcourt Fenton Mudd (and his portrayer, Roger C. Carmel, with his epic mustache), and also another surprising conversation around the tight-pants epidemic prevalent on Friday night television in '67.

The recap of television on November 3rd, 1967 continues, with the lead program on CBS - the two-fisted steampunk western comic adventure The Wild Wild West! After an intro by friend of the podcast Kristen Gaydos, Sarah & Joe break down the show's relatively brief, memorable run in the late '60s, from the controversy over its violence to the miraculous fabric that seemingly doesn't tear during the many fights scenes. Along the way, show favorite James Gregory makes an appearance, alongside series stars Robert Conrad and Ross Martin, with additional discussions of the 1999 Will Smith feature adaptation (and that year's Razzie Awards), Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Clambake, Batman '66, and a chaotic outro in search of a fitting ending that gets way, way out there.

And all that takes place against the backdrop of a somewhat unsuccessful discussion of Disney's 1967 classic The Jungle Book, as the hosts sporadically attempt to extol the virtues of the animated musical while commenting on the returns as they roll in from across the country. Sarah & Joe break down all the key figures in this hoax-leaning adventure, with commentary cribbed from Hollywood make-up artists and effects specialists, theories highly probable and completely unlikely, and a shoutout to the block-of-ice Sasquatch they saw, on display at all times in Austin, TX (big ups, Museum of the Weird!). The hosts go on mental journeys from belief to disbelief, discuss supernatural creatures and their prevalence in far flung world cultures, and speculate whether the Mrs. Bigfoot from this video is a Scorpio or not.

Sarah & Joe get deep into Red Sox Nation and that '67 run - how Joe became a Red Sox fan, how the franchise and the fan base has changed since 2004, Carl Yastrzemski's Triple Crown season, the tragedy of Tony Conigliaro, the greatness of Bob Gibson, the surprise appearance of Roger Maris, and another game seven defeat in the 86-year losing drought.
